5-26-25 THOUGHTS
We rejoice because we belong to God and are ever pointed in His direction. Rejoicing in God’s awesome peace is our theme in this reading. We have a list of characteristics that we are to PRACTICE... and the God of peace will be with us! We are told to turn our anxiety over to God in prayer. As we beg Him and thank Him, peace and “a guarding” are ours in Christ Jesus. It’s simply more than we can understand!
Php 4:4–9 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
.
My Prayer:
How wonderful to be Your children. O God. Help us to see the wealth of reasons for our rejoicing, and then to rejoice always in You. Teach us to redeem our time from anxiety as we pray powerfully. Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May we ever dwell on the things in our lives that come from You. Help us to practice the things in our hearts from You, and may Your peace be always with us. In the name of our Lord Jesus, Amen.
